Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) is a University in the region of Namburu, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is one of several major universities in the country, covering many colleges and institutes of districts in the region. The University is named after Acharya Nagarjuna, the founder of the Madhyamaka path of Mahayana Buddhism. Acharya Nagarjuna University has completed three decades of its existence. The University was established by Act 43 of 1976 of A.P. State Legislature and Governed by Act 4 of 1991 covering 6 Universities of the State. It was inaugurated on 11th September, 1976 by the former President of India, Sri Fakruddin Ali Ahmed. The University has been awarded A Grade by the NAAC
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is an Indian public central University. It was originally established bySir Syed Ahmad Khan as Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875. Internationally, AMU was ranked 801-1000 in the QS World University Rankings of 2018. The same rankings ranked it 238 in Asia and 161-170 among BRICS nations. It was ranked 601-800 in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2018, 158 in Asia and 157 among BRICS & Emerging Economies in 2017. Tamil Nadu Open University(TNOU) is an Indian institution for open and distance learning established by the government of Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded in 2002 and is based in Chennai. The University was established by the Legislative Assembly of the government of Tamil Nadu in Act 27 of 2002 to provide access to higher education for those who had been previously unable to pursue it. It opened in 2003, was recognized by the University Grants Commission in September 2015, and is one of five universities approved to offer distance learning outside its state of establishment. As of January 2016 it was one of 14 state open universities in India, and as of April 2017 it was one of 111 distance learning institutions in the country.

The University of North Bengal was established by Act of the Legislature of West Bengal in 1962. The campus covers an area of nearly 331 acres of land at the foothills of high Himalaya. The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) was established in July 1989 by Act XX- (1989) of the Maharashtra State Legislature, named after Yashwantrao Chavan, Maharashtra’s great political leader and builder of modern Maharashtra.
